Meet Our Trainers

  • Amanda Garcia

    HEAD TRAINER

I was privileged to grow up in beautiful San Luis Obispo, California, loving the fact I was surrounded by horses and other animals. I always wanted to ride horses, and I started in on my parents to get me riding lessons at a very young age. It all began when I was lucky enough to learn to ride with the best hunter/jumper barn and trainer in the area.

I showed on the A-Circuit all throughout my middle and high school years, going on to train and work with world-renown show jumper Harley Brown. I graduated high school in 2003, when Harley arrived with his amazing stallion, Blue Diamond. This was the last stop after their amazing journey from Australia to Florida to compete at West Palm Beach horse show. Harley and Blue Diamond went on to do what they came to do: qualifying for the World Cup in 2006. From that point on, he took me under his wing, helping and teaching me all that he knew. Harley, his wife Olivia and I, went on to show and work together for almost ten years. Harley now is one of the top-five riders in California with his amazing horse, Cassiato.

Some of my most memorable moments are going with Harley to the World Cup in 2009, placing in the top-three in the Pebble Beach Summer Classic Professional Derby, and twice taking the long road trip to show at Spruce Meadows, Canada. Showing and Training are what I love most in life and I’ve loved every minute of it.

  • Kayla Lippe

    ASSISTANT TRAINER

My name is Kayla Lippe and I graduated Cal Poly with a degree in Animal Science. I am originally from El Cerrito, California in the Bay Area and I have been living in San Luis Obispo for the past 8 years.

I began riding horses when I was 8 and I have loved it ever since. I have competed since I was 10 in the hunters and jumpers with my focus being on the jumpers.

I started working for Amanda in 2019 when I graduated from Cal Poly and have been riding with her since 2015. Riding and working for Amanda Garcia over the past 8 years has been an amazing experience and my riding has improved tremendously!

What we’re about.

The most important aspect of our horse training program is that the animal learns to respond and perform to the best of its ability. We always keep it in mind that each and every horse is capable of all different levels of ability. We have great success with all ages of horses, from putting the first thirty days on one to keeping the broke horse tuned and ready to do the job that it knows so well. Our foremost goal is to get your horse working to the best of its capabilities both in and out of the arena.
